The 6^th CHOO CHOO team at KUBS Startup Institute (Director=Hicheon Kim) was finally selected. On December 7 (Fri) 14:00, the ‘2018 Startup Express Winter Season’ held at KUBS Startup Station in KUBS Main Building was full of passion from future entrepreneurs and a variety of ideas. The Startup Express is a contest hosted by the KUBS Startup Institute, supervised by Seung Myung-Ho Center for Entrepreneurship Education, and sponsored by Korea University LINC+ Enterprise Organization, where students propose creative business items based on entrepreneurship and innovation.

On the event, the following personnel attended as the jury: △Hicheon Kim, Director of Startup Institute △Shijin Yoo, Director of Seung Myung-Ho Center for Entrepreneurship Education △Daeyoon Park, Startup Institute Research Professor △Jaiho Chung, Startup Institute Professor of Industry-University Collaboration △Jooyoung Noh, Donghwa Group Team Leader of Strategy Planning △Myungchul Shin, KingsBay Capital Partner △Jaeson Shin, ITWinner Co. CEO △Jong-geun Lim, Iljin Group Member of board of directors etc.

Prior to the event, the Director of Seung Myung-Ho Center for Entrepreneurship Education, Shijin Yoo, said “Iljin Center for Startup Incubation is the most famous and going-ahead Startup Incubation lead by a college” and reminded that “I hope that every participating team doesn’t get nervous and fully show their competence”.

A total of 39 teams composed of undergraduates and graduates from in and outside of Korea University applied for 2018 Startup Express Winter Season. Top 10 teams that passed the documentation and interview evaluation participated in the presentation and introduced their business item.

2018 Startup Express Winter Season Event was comprised of idea presentation and Q&A time. Judges evaluated business models based on following standards: △Creativity △Marketability △Business Feasibility △Investigation and Analysis level etc. and three teams were selected as winners – △Sooho(Grand Prize) △Super Huan(Runner-up Prize) △Health Keeper(Korea University Business Research Institute Special Prize).

The top three teams which won a prize at 2018 Startup Express Winter Season will move in Iljin Center for Startup Incubation in January 2019. Operating expenses for entrepreneurial activities will be given to teams after the move. They will also receive systematic enterprise education and support as well as sustained consultation and support form mentors composed of senior entrepreneurs, expert in the industry, and venture capitalists. Also, they will be able to share their experience with teams that are already in the center by using the startup network.
